The Excitement is palpable. I made my first trip to "Richard's Coffee Shop" in Mooresville to watch Robert Brawley be sworn in for his 10th term in the NC House. He is also the answer to our prayers. If you live in his district, call and encourage him to sponsor our bill. We could not have a better ally in the house.
If you haven't been to the coffee shop, what a treat. It is filled with veteran's stories and souvenirs, and veterans. Probably 50 were there for this event. If you live close to Mooresville, you need to stop by and voice your support for MM.
We will meet here in Rockingham this weekend for the final planning session. I would encourage anyone wanting to work on this issue try to make it. If you have problems and can't make this, call me 910.995.0413 for more info.
As it stands, we hope to have meetings with legislators in the morning and meet in the auditorium around 11 AM for the presentations. Mary Lynn Mathre from Patients Out of Time will provide the program along with Dr. Baiko who will give an overview of his practice in Hawaii and answer questions for legislators and visitors.
Also on hand will be Ben Scales to answer questions on the bill itself.
If you have not already, write or call your legislator and invite them to the educational session.
I had planned to have a grant application to DPA by Wednesday. I missed the deadline but am trying to get a break. If not, we have the donation thermometer on the front page. If you can afford to help, we use the money very sparingly.
Also want to thank Bewell for the raging FB page. It has really caught fire. This is our year. Ask yourself: What else can I do? Then do it.
