Let's see if we can reach 1000 members on the site by the end of June! Everyone take time to recruit people to our site. A good way of doing this is through social websites.

Is it helpful to have members, regardless of whether or not they're active on here? What I mean is, I might be able to get some folks to join, but it would likely end there. They most likely wouldn't attend meetings, etc. Is it strength in numbers? Or is it strength in activity?

No we want people who will be active. They should 'want' to join.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. I noticed there's a Facebook page. Is that run by someone actively on this website?

I went to the FB page and it just says to share on FB. I wouldn't do this to get people to sign up, because of the people that are out there who do not want MMJ available, maybe because of ignorance of the facts, or maybe because they are still living in the old days of the 60's, or maybe for some other reason. I would hope we only bring people we "know" as a friend. For instance I was on another site, doing some writing about MJ and definitely drilled the person before inviting them to the site. I invited only 2 out of 5. I read their topics, and had them explain why they wanted the info and what their ailments were. It may have seemed to be a little evasive or some other words??? But, for me it is important to keep the family type relationships we have on here. It is our site and only for people who agree with the fight for MMJ as our choice in medicine. Hope this is understandable and that you will take this approach as well when inviting people from other sites that you may not know. Just sayin...

I had no intentions of using a Facebook share, I was just wondering if the Facebook page was monitored by someone on here. As for other pages, I'm not affiliated with any, so you don't have to worry about me doing any attempts at mass recruiting.

HI..the way I see it... there are a TON of people out there who support medical MJ be they members of NCCPN or not. I sincerely believe that if put to a VOTE by the people of this state medical marijuana and de-criminalization would PASS by a landslide. There are many many people in this state "in the closet" when it comes to marijuana. They fully support it but would never join any organization that publicly endorses it. Too many absolutely cannot afford to lose thier jobs or reputations if they were tied to anything to do with marijuana.... But they smoke it "in the closet" at home. A public showing of a mass of people in support where annominity is pretty much assured would bring out the most people...young and old. Being a believer and supporter of medical marijuana is not exclusive to being an NCCPN member ot not.
Look at it this way... each of us know a minimum of 50 to 100 prople who would and do support de-criminalizing and medical marijuana... Now...how many of them are actual members of NCCPN? If WE as MEMBERS would tell all our friends that there is going to be a MARCH to support marijuana and put out flyers to that effect and give at least a month or more NOTICE and try to schedule it on a weekend, I would not be afraid to say that THOUSANDS would show up...BUT..there is ALWAYS drawbacks to something like that For one thing too many young people would show up for the wrong reason like its a big party or something... I bet a crowd like that would draw media attention though Just thinking on paper here...

You hit the nail right on the head. If we as people would come together on any issue we wanted changed something would happen. People would have to listen it's a proven fact.
