HB-577is dead.Nothing will be done this year. Our Representitives are not doing anything about this. It should be up to the citizens to have this or not.
Last Edit: 11 months 20 hours ago by Rasta Vision. Reason: people say it was negative. but is truth negative?

Keep your head up Rasta. I believe that Medical Cannabis will come to NC. There is progress both on the state and federal levels. It is only a matter of time. Politicians can only stall for so long. Mean time, we are at least lucky that NC has decriminalized MJ. Not so in many other states.

RXTHC, can you explain your statement that it is decriminalized in NC? It is still a misdemeanor for small amounts and a felony with possible jail time for anything over 1.5oz.

A recent post somewhere on the site said that certain jurisdictions (Holly Springs and Apex were mentioned) will arrest you for any amount.

We will have our medicine in this state legal one day. It would take a miracle to happen this year for sure but I am never going to give up. I will work towards it for 10 more years if I had to. It really bothers me when folks are so negative when we have came so far. Just look at what Perry was able to do with the NCDP and the resolution. Our Logo from the top of this page was put upon a pedestal for all to see at the memorial dinner. Also it's not the quantity of people actively pursuing our goal it's the quality. We have some great folks on this site and I hope all of you become as optimistic as I am now. I feel with the way we are set up now with chapters, regular meetings, functioning social media site, and great people that we are more poised for victory than ever before.

BUMP AND BUMP BWELL, we will win, but we can't stay hidden and behind the scenes to benefit from all the work a few are doing. I would like to invite all of you to take part in this fight. If you are unable to get out there and drive to one of the group meetings, call someone and ask for a ride. There are nothing but good people on this site, all we need to do is get our optimism on and go for it. If you want to remain anonymous when you go to one of these meetings, do so, just go and participate. Think of ideas that can get our NCCPN site out there without destroying property. When you join and give a donation you will receive a bumper sticker. If you don't want it on your car, put it somewhere else or give it to someone who is out there in the open. What ever you do, please stay positive and believe in faith that this will happen in due time. They can't keep avoiding the noise of the patients and caretakers. It is the time now to be a part of this "non-violent revolution" Do something positive to help the change.

Bewell,Iam not giving up.I am just tired of our State Government. This should have been law by now.Other states are allowing its citizens to vote on this. Our Representitives could have amended our States Constitution to allow us to vote on Medical Cannabis.Yes HB-577 is dead.

HB-577 Died in the House and Rules commitee almost 12 months ago. :( :( :( The fight NOW is for a NEW Bill to be introduced in 2013 long session. And between now and then build all the support base possible and educate the general public to the benefits of cannabis as a medicine. ;) It is not a matter of IF....it is just a matter of WHEN :cheer: :cheer: ;) :cheer: In the meantime just keep the faith and hope for a greener tommorrow.... :) :) B) B)
I understand your fustration about people a 3-4 hundred or more miles away being able to have access/grow their own medical MJ legally.   It is very fustrating    and does make one angry at this state for dragging its feet on this important issue to so many. :( But the sad facts are that politics is a SLOW process...   Have patience GrassHopper :) :) :) B)

Truth and optimism will win every time. Well put Bewell. I think it will happen sooner than most people think. HB 3 sounds good to me. Right at the front of the line. We all get discourage, its normal in this fight . But its when we stay the fight. That is what matters.

That half oz doesn't do many of us a bit of good thanks to the monthly testing.

This is incredibly frustrating, but staying positive & vocal is key. One day, we'll be able to dump these pills & treat with this wonderful plant!

Oh, Ok - I see your point. I believe we just have a different gauge as to what we are calling 'decriminalized'. I consider getting a misdemeanor for any possession, even under a .5oz, to still be criminalized.

Bewell, what a great post. YOu get my karma for the day. However, I do have another question that maybe someone can help me with. What about tincture, or other forms of treatment, like the famous brownies. Do they measure that at all? I am new to LEARNING all of these ways of medicating and want to know what they would do about these alternative ways to take this med.

Just to let you know I have been working really hard on ordering some informational and advertising for NCCPN site. I have order 500 premium cards to hand out with NCCPN info. With that is a banner and corner pieces for anyone who wants to hang it up at a meeting, function or other area where it could be seen. I also got 50 what they call rack cards. They are those cards that you see in the rest stops. They are stock cards that we can set on tables at meetings with different reps etc. Also I got some letterhead, with NCCPN.ORG on it, and table cards that we can put on tables as well when attending these meetings.

I would like to offer up these business cards to anyone who wants some. What E and I have decided is to give out as many cards as one envelope at going stamp rate to send out. If you want some, PM me and we will talk. I will need your address to send them to you. Now be patient, I just ordered these things yesterday and it will be 2 weeks before I get them. Till then, get with me and I can start a list and get them to you as soon as I can. OK.

We are working as hard as we can to get recognition as a site so that we can get some support from the other sites that have money that will help us out in our fight. I hope that makes sense, but, the more professional we look, the more ways of advertising we have, the more we get our NCCPN.ORG info out there the more support we will receive. Also think of the numbers we could reach if everyone was to hand out business cards to people on the streets. :woohoo:

Not sure about the brownies but I know that hash and oil will get you felony charges.

According to this chart:

www.chetson.com/felonies/north-carolinas...ed-substances-chart/

Hash and oil are treated the same as MJ. All three are schedule VI and class 3 misdemeanors.

With over 70% of Americans nationwide in favor of medical marijuana and over 50% in favor of full legalization, it is just a matter of time here in NC.
